January means that shimmering icicles hang down from our porch roof in the midday sunlight.
It's the footprints of the deer across our deck, through the yard and up and down the back hill or finding six deer at our birdfeeder in the back yard late at night.
January is watching the winter birds enjoying the mixed nuts in our birdfeeder by the kitchen window.
Of course, when the extremely intelligent squirrels always find ways to reach the birds' seeds or nuts, they never cease to amaze us.
It's the remarkable sunsets in the winter sky as seen from our front yard.
Although many who live in northern states complain about winter, I believe that there is spectacular beauty to be found at this time of year!
